Our very dear Amma, (Manjukka’s Amma)- Smt Sarojini Purushotham having completed her 102nd Birthday, merged with the source - the collective Consciousness this evening in Bangalore. A divine soul, ever in smarana of Lord Narayana and Guru Swami Chinmayananda breathed her last peacefully. Self-reliant, compassionate, caring and conscious till her last breath in this illustrious Janma. Gifting knowledge to the underprivileged children was her greatest Daanam to the world. A Gandhian, who walked from Myanmar to Kolkotta, inspired by Netaji Bose, Amma was the last link of an era of men and women of supreme self-sacrifice, for the freedom of India. A linguist, fluent as a breeze in Telugu, Thamizh, Hindi, Sanskrit and English, Amma contributed much to Women’s emancipation as an equal gender. Amma’s upbringing of children, allowing them to flourish as great musicians, physicians therapist and motivational leaders is notable.
